The Walker County Arts Alliance (WCAA) will host an Art Party on Oct. 24 that will feature paintings from more than 75 emerging and professional artists.
All paintings will be sold for $50. Proceeds benefit youth art programs and scholarships for artistic students.
Tickets are $30 and can be purchased in advance on Eventbrite. Tickets can also be purchased directly from the Facebook event page. There are a limited number of tickets available. Tickets may be purchased at the door depending on availability.
"This is a new fundraiser for the Walker County Arts Alliance," said Tana Collins-Allred, president of the WCAA. "It truly hits on all of the points of our mission. It provides an opportunity to encourage local artist, and expose the community to their work.
"Also, it allows us to raise funds to support the programs WCAA provides, such as the in-school art programs. Amy Grice has been pitching this idea for a few years now. I am very excited to see this project come to fruition."
The event will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at a residence at 505 Glen Oaks Dr. in Jasper.
Artists interested in participating can pick up a 12-inch X 12-inch canvas from the Walker County Arts Alliance office in Jasper, located at 200 18th St. West in Jasper, or from a WCAA board member.
Artists will sign their names on the back of their artwork, and buyers will find out the artist after they have purchased it.
An auction will be held for the opportunity to make the first three purchases.
The event will also feature live music, heavy hors d’oeuvres, tea, water, wine and beer. There will also be a youth invitational section with 10-inch x 10-inch youth artwork being sold for $25.
