Walker, Jefferson counties team up on drug trafficking case

On Thursday, the narcotics divisions of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and the Walker County Sheriff's Office teamed up on a major drug case that started in Jefferson County and led to Walker County.
Investigators were able to obtain a search warrant for a residence beside RJ's Food Mart in West Jasper.
The raid team, consisting of WCSO's SWAT, Narcotics, and K-9 units, the JCSO's Narcotics and K-9, units along with Sheriff's Drug Task Force personnel from the Dora Police Department, executed the search warrant around 8:30 p.m. Thursday night.
Narcotics personnel seized nearly a half of one kilo of Methamphetamine (392 grams), 20.9 grams of Crack Cocaine, 8.2 grams of Powder Cocaine, and 15.4 grams of Marijuana.
The suspect was placed in custody in Jefferson County on other drug charges and more information will be released once the suspect is formally charged here in Walker County.
Since Sheriff Smith took office , the WCSO Narcotics Division and Drug Task Force have made 34 drug trafficking cases by working with all agencies within the county and those in surrounding counties.
