Businesses, including some in Walker County, are hiring to meet consumer demand amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
Domino's announced this week its plan to hire 10,000 new employees across the United States. Several career opportunities at Jasper's Domino's location have been posted to include assistant manager, delivery driver, customer service representative, and general manager positions.
“Domino’s is committed to serving local communities and providing hot pizza to everyone who is looking for a meal,” the company stated Thursday. “Because of that, staffing is critical and stores across the nation are looking to hire. We want to make sure we’re not only feeding people but also providing opportunity to those who are looking for work at this time.”

Walmart is also hiring 150,000 temporary workers by the end of May. Nearly 4,000 of those jobs will be generated in Alabama.
"We know millions of Americans who are usually employed at this time are temporarily out of work, and at the same time we're currently seeing strong demand in our stores," Doug McMillon, president and CEO of Walmart, said. "We're looking for people who see Walmart as a chance to earn some extra money and perform a vital service to their community."
According to a report from Business Insider, Dollar General is hiring thousands of workers across the country, while Walgreens will be hiring nearly 10,000 people to further serve customers.
"As Walgreens continues to assess its needs related to the coronavirus situation, it will look to begin filling additional temporary customer service associate positions starting next week to help bolster in-store staffing," Walgreens corporate office released. "Some of these temporary positions might potentially lead to full-time job placement."
Some Dollar Tree locations are also hiring, as well as Aldi grocery stores, Winn-Dixie, Pizza Hut and others.
