Voting begins for kids calendar

Posted

Voting in the Cutest Kids of Walker County calendar contest started Monday.

The first voting page was featured in the Daily Mountain Eagle on Sunday and was uploaded to the newspaper Facebook page on Monday morning. The page features 20 children from across Walker County. All children entered will be featured in the Daily Mountain Eagle and on its Facebook page at least once per week until Friday, Nov. 16, which will be the voting period for the contest. Each vote is 25 cents.

At the end of the voting period, the child with the most votes will receive a free photo shoot and be featured on the cover and a month of his/her choice in the Daily Mountain Eagle’s Cutest Kids 2019 Calendar, which will be printed and available for purchase by early December. The 11 children who receive the next highest votes will also receive a free photo shoot and be featured in one month in the calendar. All children entered in the contest will be featured in some fashion in the calendar project.

The benefiting agency this year will be the Walker County Children’s Advocacy Center, which will receive 20 percent of the voting revenue and calendar sales.

“We are happy to sponsor this contest every other year,” DME Publisher James Phillips said. “Children from throughout our community will be featured in a first-class product, and funds from it will go to help a very worthy organization.”

To vote in the contest, contact the Daily Mountain Eagle at 205-221-2840.
