Virginia Holloway Black passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021, in Florence.

Mrs. Black was born on June 28, 1926, the daughter of Harvey Murray Holloway and Mary Belle Willis Holloway. She was a native of Dothan, but lived most of her life in Jasper and Birmingham. She was a longtime member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Birmingham. 

She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Mrs.  Black was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Elbert Black; daughter, Lisa Black Polk; brother, Robert Murray Holloway; and sister-in-law, Bernice Perry Holloway.

She is survived by her beloved sons, Richard Allen Black (Saundra) and Jacob Daniel Black (Tami); son-in-law, Jeff Polk; grandchildren, Richard Allen Black Jr. (Amy), Jacob Daniel Black Jr. and Jared Loey Black; great-grandchildren, Rebekah Anna Black, Elisha James Black, Jared Loey Black Jr. and Jonathan Elliott Black; sister Betty Holloway Kelly (Johnny); very dear and loved friend Alyson Stephenson Powell; and much loved nieces and nephews.

A private family graveside service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Jasper. Memorial contributions may be made to Big Oak Ranch, P.O. Box 507 Springville, AL 35146 or to the charity of your choice.
