A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 6 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, has claimed the life of a Townley man.
Jacob Cooper, 20, was killed when he lost control of the 2015 Nissan Sentra he was driving in limited-visibility weather conditions, left the roadway, traveled down a steep embankment and struck a tree.
Cooper was pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash occurred 7 miles west of Jasper on Alabama Highway 124 at the 5.7 mile marker.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
