ARLEY — Sumiton Christian earned its second win over Meek in as many days to lock up the Class 1A, Area 11 title.
The Eagles defeated Meek 17-0 in five inning at Meek High School on Wednesday. Sumiton Christian won 11-1 at Blair Field on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, Tyler Ingle got the win on the mound, allowing one hit and striking out six in three innings. Braden Woodard went the final two innings, striking out three.
The Eagles (10-14, 2-0) took control early, scoring seven runs in the first inning. They led 16-0 after three innings.
Sumiton Christian had 10 hits in the game led by Josh Allred, who was 2 for 3 with two runs and two RBIs. Yancey Young was 2 for 3 with a run and two RBIs, Ashton Whiten was 2 for 4 with two runs, Austin Scobey was 1 for 2 with two runs and two RBIs and Landon Shumate was 1 for 4 with two runs and two RBIs.
Jarrett Benson had the lone hit for the Tigers. Braxton Dickerson started and took the loss for Meek.
