Sheriff substation opens in Sipsey

Sipsey Mayor Pro Tem Brenda Robinson cuts the yellow ribbon/crime scene tape on the new East Walker Sheriff Substation on Saturday. The substation, which includes a new 24-hour camera system, is intended to help the Walker County Sheriff’s Office better serve residents of all communities in east Walker. The substation is located in the space previously occupied by the Sipsey Police Department. The town suspended its police service in January.
