Former Assistant District Attorney Chris Sherer was sworn in Thursday as the new circuit judge in Walker County. Circuit Judge Hoyt Elliott performed the swearing-in ceremony. Looking on is Sherer’s wife, Beverly. Sherer replaces Jerry Selman, who recently retired after serving as circuit judge for the past 17 years.
