A railroad crossing arm in Jasper was upended by an accident and brought to lay across the track on Thursday afternoon in Jasper, just east of the intersection of Marion Luther King Jr. Drive and 30th Street. A vehicle apparently involved in the accident was abandoned and later removed. Public safety officials said the accident may have been caused when the car hit a power pole, which may have then brought down the arm.
