Kindergarten students at T.R. Simmons Elementary school did not miss out on the tradition of picking out a pumpkin for Halloween this year. School field trips are not occurring this year due to COVID-19, so students couldn't make their annual visit to an area pumpkin patch. However, local farmer Drake McKenzie delivered over 400 pumpkins to the school last week, and the front lawn of T.R. Simmons was turned into the Little Vikes' Pumpkin Patch. HallieGrace Muncher coordinated the pumpkin patch festivities, while Stacie Woods arranged for the Sugar Shack to come by the school and give every staff member and student a snow cone, provided by the school's parent involvement team.
