Plane lands on Interstate 22

A plane made an emergency landing on U.S. Interstate 22 near Jasper on Friday.

The pilot of a single engine plane landed around 2:20 p.m. in the westbound lanes near mile marker 58 after the aircraft lost power, according to a statement released by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

No injuries or property damage were reported.  The pilot, the only occupant of the plane, was able to restart the aircraft and taxi under escort off the interstate to a nearby parking lot for further inspection.
