PHOTO GALLERY: Hilloween costume event draws large response, scares away rain

Posted 10/30/22

The annual Hilloween downtown fall festival event, known for its parade of costume characters who are judged, was a major success on Saturday, Oct. 29, in Carbon Hill. Even rain that had earlier been forecast delayed coming through the area as children enjoyed trunk-or-treat activities. Food, a cake sale, a children's train and other offerings were enjoyed. Willie Wonka and his Oompa Loompa - also known as Mike Garner and his wife, Town Clerk Sherry Garner - were the adult costume winners, while a princess in a black-and-orange dress enjoyed the goodies basket she was given as the children's winner.
