Omega Pugh Dempsey, 95, of Jasper passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022, at her residence.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Pisgah Baptist Church, with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Jeff Wiggins and Wayne Shelton officiated. Visitation was one hour prior to services.
Mrs. Dempsey was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She worked for many years at Alabama Power as an executive secretary and was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church for many years. She volunteered at Walker Baptist Medical Center as an auxiliary for many years. She truly loved her hometown of Sipsey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Dempsey; parents Fred and Amanda Pugh; brothers, Wesley Pugh, Edward Pugh, Ocie Pugh and Jimmy Pugh; and sisters, Estelle Johnson, Gladys Laster and Ruth Odom.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Harris (and her children with Mike Harris) of Jasper; grandsons, Chris Harris (Teia) of Jasper and Patrick Harris (Jayna) of Sylacauga; great-grandchildren, Canon Harris, Marly Harris, Isabella Davis, Olivia Harris and Sydney Harris; and a host of other relatives and friends.
