DORA — Turnovers remained a constant companion for the Dora Bulldogs on Friday night in a 31-17 loss to the Oneonta Redskins at Horace Roberts Field.
The Bulldogs held a slight edge in offense for the contest, 225 to 220 yards, but also suffered four critical turnovers which provided scoring opportunities for the Redskins.
Logan Fowler had an impressive night under center for Dora, completing 12 of 20 passes for 240 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Darrien Wilkerson caught eight passes for 127 with a touchdown. Jamarcus Goodmon had 19 carries for 99 yards and a touchdown.
Dora drove 61 yards on 10 plays in their first drive of the game, ending with a 24-yard field goal from Brayden Williamson to take a 3-0 advantage. Later in the first quarter, Oneonta recovered a Dora fumble and returned it 22 yards for the score, allowing the Redskins to take command, 7-3.
The Bulldogs scored on the ensuing series when Wilkerson lateralled to Goodman for a 75 yard rushing touchdown. Williamson’s extra point kick moved Dora out front, 10-7.
The Redskins took back the lead near the end of the first quarter on 58-yard score for a 14-10 edge. Oneonta added a field goal near halftime to take a 17-10 lead into the break.
The Redskins scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter for the 31-17 final.
Dora (3-1, 1-1) travels to rival Corner on Friday for the County Line Clash.
