Mary Lois Parsons Lee, 98, of Hueytown, passed away May 12, 2022. She was the oldest member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She taught school in Jefferson County and Bessemer City for 27 years and loved to travel, having visited all 50 states and several countries in Europe. She will be most remembered for her kindness and loving care for her family and friends, whom she loved spending time with.
Mrs. Lee was the wife of the late Buford Lee. They shared 28 years of marriage together before he passed away in 1974. She was also preceded in death by her parents, W.C. and Cora Laird Parsons; siblings, Samuel Parsons, Edna McKay, Ruth Greenlee, Rose Parsons, Nell Montague, and Ella Keith; nephews, James McKay and Greg Keith; and her great-great niece, Eleanor Olivia McKay.
Mrs. Lee is survived by her children, David Buford Lee (Joan) and Susan Lee White (George); grandchildren, Shannon Lee Mooney (Marshall), Allyson Cynthia Lee, Beth White Fritschi (Michael), and Brian David White; and great grandchildren, William Austin Mooney (Ashton), Anna Elizabeth Fritschi, Lillian Lee Gilliland, Adam Michael Fritschi, and John Wyatt Mooney.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, with Bro. Kyle Sullivan officiating. The family will welcome friends and family members to visit from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Friday, May 13, 2022, at Peoples Chapel Funeral Home.
