Lacy Lee Allison, 78, of Carbon Hill, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Walker Baptist Medical Center.
Graveside services will be held today, July 10, 2020, at 10 a.m. at Pisgah Cemetery.
Mr. Allison was preceded in death by his father and mother, Lacy and Nettie Allison; sister, Mildred Jackson (Glen); and brothers, Elbert, Carlos (Sue), Charles, Earl, Bill (Brenda) and Frank.
He is survived by his special friend, Rhonda Berry; sister, Marie Prestridge (Jerry); brother, Donald R. Allison (Diane); sisters-in-law, Johnnie Allison and Dean Allison, Faye Allison; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Lacy graduated from Carbon Hill in 1960. He played collegiate basketball and received a teaching degree. He then taught at Lynn School. After this, he enlisted in the Army. After he returned from service, he ran the family pool hall and opened up what is now known as the Pizza Bar.
Lacy owned and operated the Pizza Bar in the heart of Carbon Hill from 1972 to 2014. He provided meals for athletic teams, quarters for children to play video games, food and often money for community members in need. He loved his home town, and was a generous supporter of everything Carbon Hill.
And as much as he loved his home town, he loved his family. Nieces and nephews always looked forward to visiting Uncle Lacy. He loved his brothers and sisters unconditionally. Lacy Allison is a very special, kind hearted soul that will be missed by both family and his community.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Carbon Hill High School Athletics.
