Johnnie Daniel Crittenden, 73, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, surrounded by family.
Mr. Crittenden was born on July 10, 1948, to the Rev. J.O. and Ruth (Doss) Crittenden. He served the public as a cartographer for the Walker County Revenue Commission from 1980 until 1995. From there, he continued as mapper in Franklin, Tennessee.
Dan retired in 2003 to follow his passion as a home plan designer. There are several homes scattered throughout Walker County, Cullman County, and Tennessee that Dan designed.
He enjoyed vacations to the Smoky Mountains and being with his family. He had such a wonderful sense of humor. Everyone who met him loved him. If you were a friend of Dan's, you were his friend for life.
He was preceeded in death by his parents and nephew Jason Crittenden.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Denise McGough Crittenden; mother and father-in-love, Emma Jo (Jones) and Robert F. McGough; sister and brother-in-love, Vicky (McGough) Pridemore and Dave Pridemore; nieces and nephews, Katie (Cody) Heathcock and their children, Karly, Case and Ellie Kay, Jordan (Kaitlin) Pridemore and their children Johanna, Jamie, Micah and June, Aaron Pridemore, and Emily Pridemore; cousin, Kay Lane; brother, Bill (Helayne) Crittenden; nephew, Shane Ledbetter; son, Paul Crittenden, and sister, Mary Echols; niece Heather (Scott) Wood; nephew, Heath (Jennifer) Echols, and a host of friends.
A graveside service was held Monday, September 13, 2021, at Walker Memory Gardens at 11:00 a.m. Adam Hicks officiated. Serving as pall bearers were Dave Pridemore, Jordan Pridemore, Aaron Pridemore, Cody Heathcock, Russ Noelle, and Kay Lane.
