Joann Stringfellow, 77, of Sumiton, Alabama, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2020 at home surrounded by her family. She spent the evening rejoicing around the throne of the most-high King.
Joann was born March 7, 1943 to Glenda Bea Otts and Raymond Chaffin in Detroit, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Margaret Irvin and Carolyn Whitehead of Detroit, Ala. She married very young and went on to have three children, Glenda Humbers, of Salt Lake City, Utah, Vicky Jackson of Birmingham, Ala., and Donald Jackson of Parrish, Ala. She attended the Sumiton First Assembly of God. Joann loved her family and friends and she was a constant light to all of them. She has seven grandchildren, Danielle, Nicole, Jacob, Carly, Emily, Sadie and Chloe.
She was preceded in death by two of her grandchildren, Aaron and Jessica.
Joann has several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren whom she was very close to and loved unconditionally as well. The hole left by her absence will never be filled.
Joann’s Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Sumiton First Assembly of God on Yates Road in Sumiton, Ala. Family and friends are invited to attend.
