Jimmy Don Lathum, 76, of Salinas, California, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2020 at his residence after a long illness with his loving daughters by his side.
Services will be held Friday, Sept. 18, 2020 by Healey Mortuary and Crematory of Salinas. He will be laid to rest beside his wife at Castroville District Cemetery at Moss Landing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; parents, Jess and Rosabell Lathum; brothers, Ellis, Jess (Bug), Buell, and Billy; sisters, Earlene Spears, Hazel Mason, Lois Ruiz, Betty Robinson, and Vestie Gregory.
He is survived by his daughter, Tammie; son, Jimmy; brother, Arnold of Indiana; sisters, Jeanette Moles of Indiana, and Charlotte Barker of Nauvoo; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
As a teenager, he spent many days as a caddy at Musgrove Country Club. After school, he moved to California where he met his wife. He remained an avid golfer and worked for the City of Salinas until he retired.
