Jasper police announce two separate arrests

A Jasper man has been arrested and charged with a robbery that happened four months ago in west Jasper.

Isaiah DeUndre Dickerson, 19, of Jasper, was charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree theft of property for the crime that happened in September 2020.

Dickerson was taken into custody by Brookside police after a traffic stop on Jan. 13.

Dickerson, who had been held on a $75,000 property bond but was released after posting bond, also faces charges in Brookside after a stolen handgun was found in his vehicle during the traffic stop.

In a separate arrest, a Jasper man was taken into custody Jan. 12 and charged with two counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance.

Police held arrest warrants for Derrick Lindsey Brown, 34, who was taken into custody at a home on Calumet Road in Jasper.

A $60,000 property bond was set for Brown’s release from jail.

Jasper Police Chief J.C. Poe praised the work of his officers in both cases.
