Inmates at Walker County Jail recently planted 150 various crops in the raised bed gardens established last year in a fenced area behind the jail. Last year, the tomatoes and peppers that grew were distributed to local senior centers, and some were pickled and given out at community events. Chief Deputy Anthony Leach oversees the inmate garden.
