Gary Roderick Cooper, 68, of Quinton, passed away Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, at Walker Baptist Medical Center.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, at Bell Funeral Home in Sumiton. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, at the funeral home’s chapel, with burial at Shanghi Cemetery. The Rev. Don Stanton and the Rev. Paul Hicks will officiate.
Cooper was owner of Cooper’s Trading Post in Quinton.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Carl Cooper, Sr. and Roxie Mae Powell Cooper; and brothers, Homer Cooper, Carl Cooper Jr. and Jack Cooper.
Survivors include his wife, Jaunita Cooper; daughters, Veneta Rodi Cooper (James Frost), Lee Anna Cooper Norris (Jason), June Cooper Vines (Steven) and July Cooper Leach (Barry), all of Quinton; grandchildren, Mitchell Cooper, Maricia Norris and Kira Vines; sister, Janice Hardin of Quinton; brother, Charles R. “Pet” Cooper (Patsy) of Charleston, SC; sisters-in-law, Wilda Cooper and Rosa Cooper, both of Quinton; his beloved furry family, Loki, Storm, Gunsmoke and Little Horse; and a host of other relatives and friends.
