Gary Dewayne Roberts, 44, of Carbon Hill, left this earthly dwelling Monday, May 15, 2023.
Wilson Funeral Home and Crematory in Carbon Hill is assisting the family with the arrangements. There was a viewing at Wilson Funeral Home in the chapel for family on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at noon, friends at 1 p.m. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. There were no graveside services.
Gary was born June 8, 1978, in Alabama.
Gary was a loving father, hardworking Christian man, proud uncle, who loved to fish, hunt, fix and race cars, coach baseball, and play golf.
He was a country boy who grew up in Arley, but later as an adult moved to Jasper, Alabama playing baseball and football as No. 4.
His laughter lit up the room with that cute little chuckle he made with a huge grin on his face.
He loved hanging out with friends and he loved his family. He worked hard to provide for his family. His pride and joy was his son Bailey.
He will be remembered for his room-brightening smile, huge giving heart, and love of family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Georgia Jurvis; grandmother, Nell Roberts; grandfather, Willie Roberts; great-grandparents, Connie Roberts and Dee Roberts; and brother, Gary D. Roberts Jr.
He is survived by son, Bailey Roberts; stepson, Austin Bennett; stepdaughter, Lindsay Bennett; step-grandchild, Oakleigh Grace; father, Gary Roberts; sisters, Latticia Roberts, Samantha Burgess, Ashley Brumbaugh, Brandy Giddens and Jami Giddens, brothers, Nicholas Roberts and James Giddens; nieces, Michelle, Victoria B., Victoria R., Faith, Aaliyah, Haleigh, Macayla, Hannah, Emma and Maite; nephews, Elijah, Brandon, Christian, Brantley, Grayson and Joey; great-niece, Saphyra; special friends, John Thrash and Jeff Glover Jr.; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
