Former Oakman head football coach Mark Hastings has been hired as the new head coach at Hale County High School, located in Moundville.
The move was made official Thursday.
In 10 years at Oakman, Hastings amassed a 71-45 record, leading the Wildcats to the postseason eight straight years. He resigned from his post in January.
The Wildcats went 5-6 in 2018, falling to Pike County in the first round of the playoffs.
Hale County competes in Class 3A, Region 4 along with Oakman and Carbon Hill.
At Hale County, Hastings inherits a team that has won seven playoff games in its history and has five wins over the last two years combined, including a 4-6 season last year.
