Evelyn McAdams Parker, 100, of Jasper, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2020, at Ridgeview Health Services.
A memorial service will be scheduled and announced when safe conditions permit.
Evelyn was a Walker County native, who for more than 40 years was affectionately known as the “Stanley Lady.” She attended Walker County High School, put herself through the Birmingham Business School, and ultimately worked her way up to the position of Branch Manager with Stanley Home Products. She was a long-term member and supporter of the Westside Baptist Church. She was an astute business woman, devoted wife, caring mother, loving grandmother, and a friend to everyone who had the good fortune to know her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Parker; daughter, Charlet Barber; grandson, David Key; parents, Jessie and Vertie McAdams; and siblings, Ester Looney, AV Rogers, Buel McAdams, and Faye Brewer.
She is survived by her son, James Kelly Hyche Jr, and his wife, Susan; grandchildren and spouses, Gary and Ann Key, Steve and Debi Key, Ethan Hyche and Margo Huennekens, Laurel Hyche and Jeremy Adams, Eliot Hyche and Asha Allen, 10 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
