Erma Jean O'Dell, 94, entered into her heavenly home Monday, January 3, 2022.
She was a resident of Ridgewood Rehab Center in Jasper. She was born July 25, 1927, to Joe and Zada Woodson of Monroe, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Zada Woodson; three brothers, Joe, Frankie and Chuck Woodson; two sisters, Jessie McGowan and Lucille Messer; her loving husband of 56 years, the Rev. W.E. O'Dell; two daughters, Billie Rogers and Carolyn Bline; and one very precious great-granddaughter, baby girl Armstrong.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Linda Gibson of Tuckerman, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Earnie Evans of Fayette, Wayne (Melonie) Evans of Jasper, Danny (Mistie) Evans of Vilonia, Arkansas, Michael (Sabrina Z) Evans of Houston, Sherry (Jim) Chitty of Tuckerman, Arkansas, Tuwana (Chuck) Lyons of Fayette; Walter (Brandi) Rogers of Oak Grove, Kentucky, and Aimee Rogers of Carbon Hill; two sons-in-law, Lester Rogers and Jess Bline; 19 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and church family members.
Service will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Prospect Independent Church on Prospect Road (the former Methodist Church) in Carbon Hill. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. and funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. The Revs. Chad Beavers and Jess Bline will officiate. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Internment will be at Carbon Hill Memorial Gardens in Carbon Hill.
