Donald Lee Watts, a husband, father, grandfather, classic car enthusiast and recreational golfer of Sumiton, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021.
Watts is survived by his wife, Janette Cummings Watts; daughter, Shelly Cofer (Jason); son, Jason Watts (Shannon); grandchildren, Riley Cofer, Kendall Watts, Rhett Cofer and McKlain Watts; sisters, Jean Goodwin, Sara Ann Bartlett and Debra Hollis; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sara Mae Fuller; brother, Tommy Watts and sister, Brenda Lovell.
Donald was born on Oct. 14, 1945. He was a 1964 graduate of Dora High School and a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from ACIPCO in 2004. After retirement, he became a full-time granddad. He loved his family more than anything. Restoring classic cars and playing golf were hobbies that he enjoyed.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2021, from 6 until 8 p.m. at New Horizon Funeral Home at 5203 Hollis Goodwin Road in Dora. The chapel service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2021. Burial will follow at Shanghi Cemetery in Dora.
