A new partnership between the Walker County Sheriff's Office and the Carbon Hill Police Department yielded four arrests on Friday.

Sheriff Nick Smith and Carbon Hill Police Chief Antoine Cobb met Friday morning to discuss working together to combat drugs, according to a Facebook post on the WCSO page Friday afternoon.

“I appreciate Chief Cobb inviting us to work alongside them to combat the drugs and property crimes in the city. I hope this partnership, along with appointment of a Carbon Hill officer to our Drug Task Force, will help continue to see Carbon Hill benefit in many ways,” Smith said in the post.

Cobb thanked Smith for meeting with him and said he is looking forward to the agencies working together, according to the post.

The following arrests were announced later that day:

Matthew Dane Bagwell, 33, of Jasper, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Garry Lee Adams Jr., 43, of Nauvoo, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Kizzie Monique Clay, 43, of Carbon Hill, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
