Betty Latham Sudduth, 82, of Carbon Hill, formerly of Birmingham, went to be with her heavenly father Friday, Aug. 7, 2020.
Graveside services will be held Monday, Aug. 10, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Crestview Memorial Gardens. Lynell Early will officiate. There will be no visitation.
Meeting her there were her parents, Edgar and Mae Latham; brother, Jimmy Latham; sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen Hendricks, Nan and Tom Hendon, Thrace and Buddy Johnson; son, Sean Sudduth; nephew, Allen White, and nephew-in-law, Mark Duke. What a reunion that must have been.
Betty grew up in Carbon Hill and graduated from Carbon Hill High School in 1956. Throughout life, she fondly remembered good times with family and friends and spoke of her love for all.
She attended UAB and worked in banking at First National in Jasper, as well as Exchange Security (Regional) in Birmingham. After retiring from banking, she worked with the Birmingham Board of Education until she retired to enjoy life with family and friends.
Many lives will be affected by her passing, but we know there will be another day for us to meet again.
Betty passed away at the home of her brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Brenda Latham of Carbon Hill.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Sammie Latham of Carbon Hill; nephews, Bryant Latham (Kelly) of Nashville, Tenn., and Brian Montabana of Lexington, S.C.; nieces, Yolanda Latham of Carbon Hill, Keistel Gray (Jeff) of Alabaster, and Rene Montabana (Tony) of Adamsville; grandnieces, Holly Grimes (Brady) of Birmingham, Rachel Smith (Chad) of Atlanta, Ga., and Marissa Montabana of Nashville, Tenn.; great-great-niece, Lyric Saylor of Atlanta; great-great-nephew, Waston Smith of Atlanta; special friends, Daisy and Eddie, Marie, Virginia, Rita, Joe, Janice, Carl, George and Telmo, along with a host of other relatives and dear friends.
