Andrew Jackson Taft Sr., 100, of Jasper, went to be with his Heavenly Father Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at his residence.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home, and Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017, from 11 a.m. until noon at Sanctuary Church of God in Jasper.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017, at noon at Sanctuary Church of God. Burial will be at Walker Memory Gardens. Neal Fowler, Keith Banks, Jerry Burton and Victor Massey will officiate.
Taft was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Trudie Lee Taft; parents, Henry Lawrence Taft and Ethel Russell Taft; brothers, Herbert Henry Taft, William Melvin Taft, and Avery Elvin Taft; sisters, Lena Flora Taft, Henry Lela Gilbert, Stachie Pauline Helms, Clemmie Nora Spears Orton, and Mary Treshiea Russel; and granddaughters, Stephanie Richards Clark and Jennifer Buchannan.
He is survived by his son, Jack Taft; daughters, Denise Richards (Edwin), Diane Rhodes and Judith Lewis; grandchildren, Kyle Rhodes, Andrew Rhodes, Kayla Rhodes, Jessica Richards Harden (Justin), Lauren Richards, Christina Richards Liston (Joseph), Kenneth Taft (Crystal), Tracy Taft, Donald Lewis (Reba), David Lewis and Drew Lewis; great-grandchildren, Jacob Taft, Kenyon Taft, Heather Nelson, Angelina Harden, Avaleigh Harden, Ace Harden, Lynox Clark, Abby Buchanan and Sam Buchanan; five great-great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Jane Thomas; special friend, Shirley McCoy; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives; many friends; and special caregiver June Madison, thank you for being a special friend and caregiver. The loving care you gave to our Mom and Dad will never be forgotten.
A special thank you to all of the caregivers of Visiting Angels; Daisy and Edna for taking such wonderful care of our Dad for almost three years. We appreciate all the love and the kindness you’ve shown.
