The words of our title from the KJV, are found in James 5:11, “Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord, that the Lord is very pitiful and of tender mercy.” James sets forth in verses 7-11, three illustrations of patience, in verse 7 the husbandman, secondly, in verse 10, the prophets of old, and thirdly, in verse 11, the champion of Patience, the man Job. The only other mention of him, outside the Book of Job is in Ezekiel 14:14, 20 where listed with, Noah and Daniel; men of righteousness. more

Football teams across Walker County returned to their practice fields and weight rooms back in June. Workouts were a little different, but players and coaches have worked to prepare for a season they didn’t know for sure would even take place until a couple days ago.

In all the things that Disney sometimes tends to get wrong, I am forever grateful that the Broadway musical “Hamilton” made its way to a streaming device so that the rest of the world - those of us not as fortunate to make it to New York and see the show on stage- could enjoy it. more
