Local leaders gather for National Day of Prayer event in Carbon Hill

Fifteen community leaders gathered at Carbon Hill City Hall at noon Thursday to mark the National Day of Prayer. Pastor Ty McIntyre of Freedom Baptist Church and pastor Scott McCullar of First Baptist Church of Carbon Hill led in prayers for the community and the nation. Mayor April Kennedy Herron asked for prayers for herself and other city government leaders, as well as public safety crews, noting they have a hard job.
