JOB SUMMARY (a brief descriptive paragraph describing duties to be performed in this classification) Unless otherwise indicated as marginal (m). This job classification is not intended to be exhaustive and other duties may be assigned. All duties may not be included in any one classification nor does the list include all tasks found in a position of this class.
This position is responsible for the dispatching of law enforcement officers in response to emergency and non-emergency calls.
JOB DUTIES
*Receives and provides emergency and non-emergency information to Deputies
*Monitors radio traffic
*Checks law enforcement agency records for warrants, researches driver’s license information, vehicle tag and registration information
*Monitors, updates and researches NCIC and ACJIC data bases
*Performs other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent
Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Alabama for the type of vehicle or equipment operated
Possession of or ability to readily obtain DCI/NCIC certification
