Cain was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Richard Cain.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory: two sons, Larry Cain and his wife, Janice, of Lewisville, Texas, and Perry Cain and his wife, Judy, of Memphis, Tennnessee; and a daughter, Carol Taylor and her husband, Don, of Columbus, Georgia. She also leaves a sister, Louise Lewis of Tucson, Arizona. She had six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, plus several nieces and nephews.
Cain lived in a number of states and in several foreign countries with her husband, who served in the military for 30 years. She worked in several civil service jobs through the years. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, supporting congregations wherever they were assigned. They loved the members of the Sixth Avenue congregation.
The viewing will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. This will be followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Walker Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a living memorial donation be made to the Childhaven Children’s Home of Cullman or to the Monday Meals Ministry at Sixth Avenue Church of Christ. This ministry provides meals to shut-ins. Our parents were the recipients of their kind love and care.
