With last week’s round of area tournaments eliminating half of the softball teams from across the state, six programs from the Daily Mountain Eagle coverage area will begin the next step on the journey to Montgomery today in Tuscaloosa, Troy and Huntsville.

Four teams — Curry, Cordova, Sumiton Christian and Lynn — will battle at Sokol Park in Tuscaloosa, while Addison travels to Huntsville’s Metro Sportsplex. Corner rounds out the competitors with a trip to the Troy Sportsplex.

The action will continue into Saturday, with each classification’s top two regional qualifiers advancing to next week’s state tournament at Lagoon Park in Montgomery.
