If you missed last year’s performance by Daniel “River Dan” Rogers at the Pilot Club of Jasper’s annual Adminsitrative Professionals Luncheon, don’t fret.

“River Dan” is coming back.

The popular entertainer is slated to perform at this year’s luncheon, which is set for Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Community Health Systems Activities Center in downtown Jasper.

Tickets for the luncheon, which is being catered by Jim ‘Nick’s Barbecue, are $25. You can buy tickets from any member of the Pilot Club of Jasper, or by calling club member Gina Nichols at (205) 221-8076 or (205) 221-2576, ext. 222.

The theme for this year’s luncheon is “Southern Comfort.”

The luncheon is one of the club’s major fundraisers each year, and money raised from the event goes to help club members support a number of community service projects, as well as providing an annual scholarship presented to a local high school senior, Nichols said.

The Pilot Club also sponsors Anchor Clubs at five local high schools.

“This is one of our major fundraisers,” Nichols said, “and anyone coming will get a lot of bang for their $25. It’s a lot of fun.”

Last year, the event drew more than 250 people, and “River Dan” was a huge hit with those attending the luncheon.

“He plays kind of a one-man show,” Nichols said. “He plays a variety of old rock and country kind of songs. He’s just a cool dude.”

Nichols said a number of door prizes will be given away at the luncheon, which is open to anyone who would like to attend.

“We would love to gain some new club members,” Nichols said.

The Pilot Club of Jasper was established in 1969.
