He was retired from Rust Engineering with more than 35 years of service; he also worked for the City of Adamsville as the building inspector for 13 years. After retirement he volunteered for the Princeton Hospice Organization for 5 years. He was a long-time member of Midway United Methodist Church and Arley United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Thelma Ellis; and three brothers, Gordon, Paul and Nelson Ellis.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary H. Ellis; son, Robin Ellis (Sandra); daughter, Cathy Stone (Randy); brother, Don Ellis; two sisters, Nancy Cosper and Kay West; grandchildren, Monica Stone Marbut (Scott), Nathan Stone (Kayla Light), Adam Howell (Ashley), Krystle Phillips (Eric), Corey Ellis (Brittany Collar) and Corey’s mother, Lynn Ellis; and great-grandson, Koltyn Shores.
Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, from 1 until 3 p.m. at Bell Funeral Home in Forestdale.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at 3 p.m. in the Bell Forestdale Chapel with burial to follow at Midway Cemetery. Rev. Kennith Bishop and Rev. Ron Gilbreath will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions may be made to Midway United Methodist Church or Arley United Methodist Church.
