Peake, 54, of Jasper, was taken into custody by FBI agents and deputies from the the Hamilton County (Tenn.) Sheriff’s Office for trying to break her son out of jail and burning his car for insurance purposes, authorities said.
Brandon Peake was arrested in Chattanooga earlier this year and charged with the bank robbery and a bomb threat at Walker Baptist Medical Center.
According to a news release, Peake was arrested after she met with an undercover agent in Chattanooga and paid him in cash and prescription pills.
The sheriff's office and the FBI have been working together on the two-month-long investigation which led to Deborah Peake’s arrest. She has been charged with conspiracy to aid in an escape, conspiracy to commit arson, possession of schedule II and IV controlled substances for resale, and possession of a firearm while in commission of a felony.
Another warrant is also pending against her on charges of five counts of smuggling contraband into a penal institute.
Peake is currently being held in the Hamilton County Jail in Chattanooga, Tenn., on a $75,000 property bond.
