Mary Faye Muncher, 81, of Sumiton, went home to be with the Lord Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at Walker Baptist Medical Center.

She was a homemaker, a lifelong resident of Sumiton and an active member and worker of Sumiton Church of God, where she devoted 11 years of work in the nursery.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Dec. 5, from 6 until 7 p.m. at Sumiton Church of God.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m. at Sumiton Church of God. The Rev. Martin Taylor, the Rev. Lane Sargent and the Rev. Toby Morgan will officiate.

Committal services will be Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the New Horizon Memorial Gardens for everyone who wishes to attend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cannie and Flora Phillips; brothers, Norman and Jerry Phillips; and sisters, Jo Helen Haynes and Jean Hobson.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Raymond Muncher; her children, Sam Muncher and his wife Anna, Rebecca Perkins and her husband Rodney, Tim Muncher and his wife Melissa, Amanda Laird and her husband John, and Jonathan Muncher; 14 grandchildren, Samantha Gromko (John), Shane Perkins (Bethany), Todd Muncher (Rebecca), Kevin Muncher (Niki), Jason Perkins (Carolyn), Josh Perkins (Brittani), Amy Rice (Brian), Paige Givens (Chris), Hannah Sparks (Jayson), Jillian and Judson Laird, and Kaelynn, Madison and Gracie Muncher; 13 great-grandchildren, Ethan and Harper Muncher, Sophie Gromko, Parker and Peyton Givens, Tanner and Jacob Rice, Jase, Jett, Lilly, Harrison and Hollis Perkins, and Skylar Lara; one brother, Tommy Phillips (Brynda); several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
