Jemison pulls away from Corner in 54-27 win

JEMISON — Jemison outscored Corner 34-0 over the second and third quarters as the Panthers pulled away for a 54-27 victory over Corner in their Class 4A, Region 4 matchup on Friday.

For Jemison, Randy Satterfield scored three touchdowns, returning punts 58 and 74 yards for scores as well as hauling in a 40-yard pass.  John Underwood added a pair of rushing touchdowns for the Panthers.

Corner held a 7-0 lead following a 5-yard touchdown run by Hunter Doppler.

Jemison retalliated with an Underwood touchdown to notched the score at 7-7.

Corner regained the lead later in the first quarter following a 53-yard touchdown pass from Chase Best to Dylan Adamson for a 13-7 lead.

Jemison again tied the game after a Kevin Nunn 40-yard touchdown pass to Satterfield with 4.9 seconds left in the first quarter.

From there, it was all Panthers.

Jemison scored a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter for a 27-13 halftime lead.

Jemison (5-1) pushed its lead to 47-13 after three quarters.

Corner got two touchdowns in the final quarter. Chase Goodwin rushed 48 yards for a score and Chris Huff hit Jacob Manning for a 33-yard touchdown strike.

For Corner (3-4), Goodwin rushed seven times for 71 yards and a score while Doppler rushed 12 times for 66 yards and a touchdown.

Corner quarterback Chance Best completed 9-of-17 passes for 115 yards.

The Yellow Jackets host Carbon Hill for homecoming next week.
