SULLIGENT — The Oakman Wildcats won their fourth straight game Friday night on the road, beating the Sulligent Blue Devils 41-7.

The Wildcats gained 245 yards on the ground with four touchdowns with an additional 167 yards and two touchdowns through the air.

The Oakman defense held the Devils to only 158 yards of total offense.

Oakman started out quick, with two touchdown passes from Jase Trotter to Deontre Muse, one from 50 yards and the other from 56 yards out.

The 14-0 score held until 4:12 left in the half, when Trotter ran in a 38-yard touchdown. Matthew Wilson’s kick hit the upright, making it 20-0. Sulligent answered on its following drive, converting a fourth and one at midfield on its way to the end zone.

Jordan Gardner dove for the pylon to get the Devils on the board to end the half.

No. 8 Oakman (5-1, 3-1) started the half with a one play touchdown drive with Quinton Harris running in from 49 yards out. After failing to convert the fourth down in the red zone, Sulligent turned the ball back over to Oakman. This time, it would be Chris Austin scoring the points with a 9-yard touchdown run.

The Wildcats again held, forcing another turnover on downs. With a short field, it only took four plays for Austin Caldwell to get the final touchdown of the night from the 1-yard line, making it 41-7.

Trotter went 7 of 14 for 167 yards and two touchdowns passing with an additional 104 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Quinton Harris and Christopher Austin each rushed for over 50 yards and a touchdown apiece. Oakman continues region play next week as they travel to Hale County.
