The Bulldogs suddenly found focus, with Stevie Simmerly returning a kickoff for 75 yards, setting up on the 5-yard lime.
A five-yard run gave the Bulldogs their first points of the night, with a score of 14-7. The Bulldogs kept momentum after the kick, recovering an Oak Grove fumble on their own 22-yard line. However, the excitement faded some as a turnover on downs placed Oak Grove in position for another touchdown run, this time from 35 yards out for 21-7 halftime lead.
The second half opened up with the Bulldogs getting possession, but quickly turning it over after three short runs forced a punt.
Oak Grove began around its own five-yard line, marching down the field again, this time scoring on a 36-yard pass.
After another series of struggles, the Bulldogs again found themselves in a punting situation, setting the Tigers up to pass down the field for another touchdown.
Carbon Hill responded with force, as Chandler Gann, Stevie Simmerly, and Jacob Mitchell moved the football down the field, before a Tiger interception changed the direction of play. Oak Grove then immediately ran 88 yards for another touchdown, bringing the score to 42-7 with just under nine minutes of play.
A determined Carbon Hill offense refused to give up, with the Bulldogs putting another touchdown on the board to make the score 42-13 with less than five minutes remaining.
Oak Grove responded with another run to the end zone, bringing its lead to 49-13.
Set on having the last word, the Bulldogs took possession for the final time of the evening. As the buzzer sounded to end the game, the Bulldogs scored their final touchdown of the evening, followed by a successful two-point conversion attempt.
Carbon Hill (0-4, 0-3) hosts Winston County in a non-region game next week.
