The city advertised in the last issue of the magazine. This time, among other changes, the magazine will be titled “Walker County.”
The mayor and council asked for a list of options for advertising and said they would discuss and consider the options and bring it back to a future meeting.
In other business:
•The council approved the payment of all bills and approved the city’s park department’s attendance of a turf conference to maintain the grounds at the city parks.
•The council approved a waiver that will allow the Northwest Mental Health Services to begin construction at the site on Hull Road, prior to the approval of their grant funds.
•The council also said they would send three people, one from the fire department, one from the water and gas department and one from the street department, to the operator training certification for Environmental Management to bring the city up to date on certification.
•The council reminded the attendees that the city’s Frog Festival is planned this year for Oct. 5 in downtown.
