Helen Ann McGough, 93, of Nauvoo, passed away Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013.

The family will receive friends Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at Collins-Burke Funeral Home from 1 until 2 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel with burial at Carbon Hill Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. Howard Thompson will officiate.

She loved her family and being with her sisters and brothers. She loved traveling, decorating her home for the seasons and working in her yard. Music (especially gospel music), reading the Bible and her magazines and watching baseball and football were constants in her life. She believed that the United States was the greatest country in the world and the flag the most beautiful.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar L. McGough; parents, Dell and Kate Guthrie; brothers, Clarence “Bo” Guthrie, Walter Guthrie, Walker D. Guthrie, and James W. Guthrie; and sisters, Clara McGough, Ruby Morrow, Evelyn Williams, and Willodean Barnett.

She is survived by her son, Steve D. McGough (Linda); grandchildren, Tammy J. McGough and Brian S. McGough; sisters, June Fuller, Maxine Boles, Barbara Collins and Merita Evans (Searcy); her special caregiver, Sophie Davison; and the wonderful staff of Ridgeview Heath Center Rehab Section.

Pallbearers will be (nephews) Terrell Guthrie, Bruce Barnett, Ray Boles, Gary Wayne Guthrie, Barry Evans, John Allen Morrow, Luther Fuller and Tommy Fuller.
