The Bull Pen Steakhouse in Oakman has moved into the final eight in the competition for ‘Alabama’s Best Steak’ currently being sponsored by the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association.

“We’re humbled. To be voted as one of the top eight steakhouses in Alabama is a very big honor,” said Bull Corry, owner of Bull Pen Steakhouse. “I think this says a lot about our county. We encourage everyone to continue casting their votes, because we’re in it to win it.”

The Bull Pen now goes head-to-head with Gates Restaurant in Aliceville to be selected winner of the Central Region of the state. The winner of that moves on to the ‘Fiery Four’ round of the competition.

Other restaurants making it into the ‘Enticing Eight’ are Brandin’ Iron Steakhouse in Cullman; JW Steakhouse in Decatur; Diamond Jim’s & Mrs. Donna’s in Livingston; Hickory Chip in Clanton; FIRE Steakhouse in Atmore; and Jesse’s Restaurant in Magnolia Springs.

Voters have one week left to cast a ballot before the final judging begins. To vote your favorite restaurant through to the “Fiery 4” bracket, visit www.bamabeef.org or text the word “beef” to 20566 and you’ll be guided through the steps to cast a vote.
