Kelley Privette Roberts and Taylor William Duncan were united in holy matrimony on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 5:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa, Ala. The Rev. Tim Simpson officiated the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry (Skip) Wright Roberts II of Jasper. She is the granddaughter of William Douglas and Martha Kelley Stripling of Jasper, formerly of Fayette, and the late Billy Wright and Jerrie Barton Roberts of Knoxville, Tenn.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stuart William Duncan of Florence. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James William Simmons Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Kenneth Duncan of Florence. His great-grandmother is Mrs. Madyline Rhodes Lovelace, also of Florence.

The wedding celebration began with the wedding rehearsal followed by a rehearsal dinner hosted by the groom’s parents at Cyprus Inn on the eve of the wedding. The guests shared special stories with the bride and groom, as was directed by their minister.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a bridal gown of silk satin featuring a sweetheart neckline. The bodice was embellished with scrolls of crystals and hand-sewn pearls. The full ball gown skirt was highlighted with covered silk Mikado Buttons and a chapel length train. The bridal gown was designed for the bride by Allure. Her veil was borrowed from her sister, Whitney Roberts Childers.

Attending the bride as matron of honor was Mrs. Whitney Roberts Childers, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Miss Abby Suzanne Duncan, sister of the groom, Miss Hilliary Lucille Hallman, Miss Alyson Lindsey Dix and Mrs. Rachel Todd Seay. Flower girl was Miss Isabella SueAnn Rutledge.

Best man was the father of the groom, Stuart William Duncan. Groomsmen were Carson Wright Roberts, brother of the bride, Patrick Newman Taylor, James Brian Wilhite and William McLeod Scogin. Ringbearer was Noah Douglas Williams, cousin of the bride. Ushers were Joseph McBryde Childers, brother-in-law of the bride, and James William Simmons IV, cousin of the groom.

Musicians included vocalists Wendy Davenport, Curtis Cagle, Sherry Stripling Williams and Mark Presswood. They were accompanied by Barbara Smith.

Following the wedding ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at the Bryant Conference Center on the campus of the University of Alabama.

After their honeymoon in Jamaica, they now reside in Hoover where the groom is attending the University of Alabama in Birmingham School of Dentistry, and the bride is the marketing coordinator for Sain Associates, Inc.
