United Way kicks off fundraising campaign

A group of community and business leaders met Friday at First Bank of Jasper to discuss the upcoming 2013 Walker County fundraising campaign for United Way of Central Alabama. Last year the local campaign generated $1.1 million. The goal for this year's campaign will be announced during a kickoff luncheon Friday, Sept. 13, at the Community Health Systems building in downtown Jasper. Brent McCarver will chair the campaign effort this fall. Those who attended the organizational meeting included (from l-r): Susan McKinney, David O'Mary, Renae Cain of United Way, Jack Allen, Charlotte Pugh, Jack McNeely, Carol Downs, Kevin Callahan, Brent McCarver and Jud Allen.
