If you’re proud of your car, The Central Alabama Rodders Society wants you to come show it off at their monthly car show and cruise in at the Jasper Mall this afternoon, if weather permits.

The event begins in the parking lot in front of the mall at 5 p.m. and wraps up at about 8 p.m. Normally there are approximately 100 car enthusiasts who attend, although sometime holiday weekends mean bigger crowds for the car club.

There is no registration fee to enter a vehicle in the show and no admittance fee for attendees. Cars will be registered on site, no preregistration is required. All vehicles, of any age, make or model are welcome to the event, which organizers said is “for all car lovers.”

The group will give away ten cash prizes of $20 to car entries at the event. Organizers recommend arriving at 5 p.m. to get prime parking spaces for entries.

CARS will host cruise ins on the first Saturday of each month through October. They will also host their large annual car show/cruise in downtown on Oct. 19, which attracts more than 300 cars and includes giveaways throughout the day.

This week there will be live entertainment provided by Macabillies with Holly Bison.
