Nina Mae Cooper Acorn, 88, of Jasper, died on Wednesday, June 12 at Ridgewood Health Care Center. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 15 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with burial at King’s Chapel Cemetery in Townley. Dr. Willis Harbison will officiate.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Annie Mae Cooper; sister, LaTrieve Key; brothers, Preston and Reynolds Cooper; husband, T. B. Acorn; and grandson, Shane Steadman.

She is survived by two sons, Walter Howard (Mac) McLain and his wife, Brenda, and Jimmy Ray McLain and his wife, Wanda, all of Jasper; daughter, Nina Kaye Steadman and her husband, Wayne, of Birmingham; five grandchildren, Jonathan Steadman and his wife, Angela of Clifton, Tenn., Kristi Woods and her husband, Jason, of Birmingahm, Ben McLain and his wife, Amy of Louisville, Ky.; Amber Rodriguez and her husband, Jose, of Dayton, Ohio; Brittney Henson and her husband, Curt, of Jasper; 13 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
